Another really good period with lots of Buzzards being traded (1006 member to member and 1202 if we include Organisation transactions), there were 177 trades this period as against 93 in the last period (so almost double).  Membership fees collected amounted to 105, but we gave 20 Buzzards as welcome to two new members therefore the positive balance is 85.  Members “expenses” claims were more than double this period 45 as opposed to 20, but this may well reflect the extra work needed to put on several successful events.

A lot of trading activity was generated by the hugely successful quiz and also by the wreath-making session hosted by Jane.

Report prepared by Valerie 258 – Treasurer 18/01/19 (but for the period until 07/01/19)

Buzzard expenses payments agreed:

Barbara  (208) 6bz - for hosting the meeting

Jean (82) 6bz - for taking minutes

Sue (215) 2bz - for Facebook page updates

New members Welcome Pack

We discussed ways of making it easier for new members to start trading. One suggestion was that we should make a point of making contact with new members and where possible to trade with them. We agreed to keep this on the Open meeting agenda as a regular item. Action: Jean and Jane

We also agreed that it would be useful to continue to encourage all members to use the newsletter to introduce themselves to the membership and that this could be a regular feature in the newsletter. One way of doing this would be to use the questionnaire format used by Jane and Jean in the August newsletter. Barbara agreed to write something for the February newsletter and Jean agreed to send her the questionnaire. Action: Jean

AOB

It was suggested that we might get a better attendance at Open meetings if they were held in the daytime rather than evenings. This is not possible at present as both Coordinators are at work during the day. We agreed to keep this in mind as an option for the future.
