The TPCOC Timebank is a cooperative exchange system within The People’s Chamber of Commerce. These guidelines protect members, support fairness, and help fulfill our mission to strengthen people and communities through shared skills and mutual support.
1. Membership Eligibility
• Only active members of The People’s Chamber of Commerce may participate.
• Members must maintain accurate contact information.
• Members agree to uphold community values of respect, integrity, and cooperation.
2. Earning Freedom Credits
• Members earn one Freedom Credit for every hour of service provided.
• Credits are recorded in the Timebank system.
• Travel time may be counted if both parties agree.
3. Spending Freedom Credits
• Credits may be used to request services from any member.
• Members are responsible for communication, scheduling, and completing the exchange.
• Credits cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be sold.
4. Initial Credits
• Every new member begins with five Freedom Credits.
• These credits allow members to request services immediately.
• After the initial credits are used, new credits are earned by providing service to others.
5. Equal Value of Time
• All time carries equal value in the Timebank.
• One hour of service equals one Freedom Credit for every member.
• This creates fairness, dignity, and shared respect.
6. Safety and Conduct
Members agree to:
• communicate clearly and respectfully
• arrive on time for scheduled exchanges
• provide honest, ethical, and lawful services
• notify the other party if plans change
• follow all local, state, and federal laws
Unsafe, inappropriate, or illegal behavior will lead to removal from the Timebank.
7. Disputes and Concerns
• Members should first try to resolve concerns directly with one another.
• If needed, a Timebank coordinator or Chamber representative will help mediate.
• The President of TPCOC has full authority to remove a member whose conduct conflicts with the mission or values of the Chamber.
8. Privacy and Data
• Members choose the information they wish to display.
• Personal data is protected and used only for Timebank activities.
• TPCOC does not sell or share member data.
9. Forbidden Activities
The following are not allowed:
• trading real money for Freedom Credits
• offering services that are illegal, unsafe, or harmful
• discrimination or harassment of any kind
• misrepresenting services or exploiting members
• using the Timebank for commercial profit without approval
10. Chamber Responsibilities
TPCOC agrees to:
• maintain the Timebank platform
• provide member support
• monitor usage for fairness and safety
• promote community engagement and cooperation
• preserve the integrity of the Freedom Credit system
11. Member Responsibilities
Members agree to:
• keep profiles accurate
• honor agreed commitments
• report service time honestly
• contribute to a positive environment
• participate in a spirit of cooperation and community support
12. Governance and Authority
• The Timebank is an official program of The People’s Chamber of Commerce.
• The President of TPCOC holds final authority over governance, membership, and program direction.
• Policies may be updated as the Timebank grows to protect fairness, safety, and program integrity.
